Case Study
Controlled Vocabulary and Harmonization
The Challenge
The client managed large volumes of data from individual experiments, with data generated from external labs, internal labs, and public datasets. This data was stored across diverse platforms: AWS, local storage, S3, and enterprise systems. It was distributed across North America, Europe, and China.
The diversity of analysis types (DNAseq, RNAseq, Immuno-Seq) and sample types (cell culture, tissue, organism) demanded rich, structured metadata.
Harmonization
Deus Duck developed a web-based framework for managing all Omics data in a cloud-based solution.
The framework supports bioinformatics analysis workflow management, integrates with existing systems, and enables cross-experiment data analytics.
Developing a Controlled Vocabulary
Metadata was managed using controlled vocabulary aligned with the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable). This approach established standard terms across projects with hierarchical relationships, equivalences, and associations—clarifying the core concepts on which the organization operates.
The Solution
Capture
Define
Analyze
Reconcile
Convert
Our five-step approach moves organizations from fragmented data to a unified, searchable, and reusable data estate. We unlock the value hidden in every experiment.
